Devin Hart Bearden

Caring, athletic, bright, witty, attractive At 6’2”, Devin was lanky, handsome, and a natural athlete. Equally at home on a skateboard, snowboard, or when surfing, he was a pleasure to watch; so fluid and graceful. He was a good soccer and baseball player and loved hiking in nature or being at the beach, especially on the annual family beach trips to Hatteras in North Carolina.

Kory Baker Ambler 

He embodied love for all Kory “danced to the beat of his own drum and never let the world dim his shine,” his finance and mother of his children, Jodi said. One hundred percent comfortable in his own skin, Jodi referred to him as her “big, strong, handsome man,” who welcomed the ostracized, made everyone laugh to tears, and loved his family beyond measure.

Ended too soon When asked for words to define Jose, his mother, Wanda, and his significant other, Chelsea said; funny, energetic, loving, outgoing, caring, and empathic. Jose’s energetic and outgoing personality drew people to him, and his empathetic nature made him a beloved partner, father, son, and friend.

Create your own sunshine Chloe (or Bean/Beanie) was a beacon of warmth to all around her—an embodiment of outpouring love. She had a funny little habit she would invoke upon her loved ones: thrusting her chin into their faces and demanding a kiss, repeating the phrase between giggles, “Kiss the chin, go ahead! Kiss it!” until the second party complied.

Empathetic, accepting, generous, funny, creative Brandon’s creativity was with him from a young age. He loved to draw and design intricate creatures, and this talent would serve him well in the future. He tried numerous jobs after graduating high school, but none of them accommodated his disability. After many unsuccessful roles, Brandon played to his strengths, focusing on art.

Loving, brave, artistic, strong, wild. A flair for the creative ran in the Bettencourt family, as Jay and his younger brother both had many artistic interests. One of Jay’s first passions was photography. At sixteen, it was his weekend gig. He assisted his father, carrying bags and setting up equipment, but quickly learned to use a camera, set lighting, and create composition.

Sensitive, intelligent, wise beyond his years, caring, gentle   Michael Bump was a rare soul-gentle, kind, and caring with a depth of spirit and keen intellect. A deep-thinker, he was endlessly curious about the world and the Divine, always looking for “God’s truth.” He read endlessly, absorbing knowledge on everything from particle physics to plant life and ancient mysteries of existence. “He was a metaphysician exploring spirituality from many different perspectives,” his father said.

She would sacrifice anything—except, of course, her bond with brother’s beloved dog Roma—to help anyone. Amy had a natural talent for making people laugh and loved doing just that.

Youthful, lovable, gentle, missed terribly Teddy was a beloved figure, both by his family and large group of friends. If you knew Teddy, you were very familiar with his infectious humor, adventurous spirit, and deep love of the outdoors. From a young age, his zest for life was apparent, particularly through his passion for hunting and fishing. His playful nature and sense of humor was evident, even as a child. At the age of four he wore a pair of cowboy boots every single day for an entire year, irrespective of the weather conditions.

Complex, intelligent, generous, kind  Dane was always very opinionated, never afraid to speak his mind, “That didn’t always go over well with some people, but I loved it about him,” his mother Regina stated. Dane was loving, generous and very funny. He loved to read and write poetry, snow and skate board, watch sports, do photography, and cook. He was over the moon when his Uncle Dane gave him a 50cc dirt bike. It was pure joy watching him ride it and bond with his uncle.

He was a family man, deeply devoted to his loved ones, especially his nephew Jack, whom he adored. He also loved Thanksgiving and St. Patrick’s Day – mostly for the food!!

When he wasn’t exploring the great outdoors, Greg could often be found at the gym or immersed in video games, a hobby he enjoyed as much as his other pursuits.

Doing what was asked of him, and getting himself up for school with no problems, was the norm for Shane. From a young age, Shane loved to doodle and draw, replicating anything he saw.

One special night, she enjoyed both. Sarah’s mother, Liz, took Sarah, her sister Megan, and some friends to grab donuts and watch the sunrise at the beach. They stayed in the car until the sun shone above the horizon. When it did, they settled into the sand with some sheets they brought and prepared to take in the view.
