Hardworking, determined, family man
Cody Drewitz was an unbelievably hard worker with an uncontested love for his family. From his time in the military to his concrete work, Cody took pride in his accomplishments. Cody cared deeply for his family and friends; he loved doing anything that let him spend time with them. He had big dreams of making a career and a family for himself.
Cody had professional dreams that he shared with his family. When he was in the Army, he was planning on making a career of it. His stepdad, David, did the same, and Cody wanted to follow in his footsteps. Once Cody graduated from basic training, his family was there to support him. He wanted to go to Air Assault school, but he was honorably discharged before he could. That’s when he began working in concrete. He started as a laborer and was a determined worker. He was very proud of the work that he did and often shared his accomplishments with his family. Because of his dedication and hard work, he was promoted to finisher.
In Cody’s life, there was nothing as important as his family. He had a large family and cared deeply for each of them. Cody was close with both of his grandparents as well. He and his mother had a strong bond, and his brother and he were best friends. He loved them so much and wanted to make them proud with his hard work and accomplishments. Cody talked with them every day and stayed with them when he returned home. His parents loved having him over whenever he could make it. Cody also had big dreams to start his own family one day, but unfortunately, he passed away before reaching this goal.
Cody’s favorite hobbies and activities were those that he could enjoy with family and friends. When Cody was young, he played baseball all throughout his childhood. When he grew up, he would go to the Brewers and Packers games with his family. They also loved going to the state and county fairs together during the summer. Fishing was one of his favorite hobbies, and he was quite good at it. Trips to Florida, New Orleans, and the Gulf Shores gave him plenty of time to relax and fish with his family. Above all else, Cody loved sitting by the bonfire with those closest to him: his family and friends. He gravitated toward activities he could share with others—whether teammates, coworkers, brothers-in-arms, or family—finding joy in connecting through shared experiences and quality time.
Cody was special to many people. He inspired others through his work ethic, showed a deep love for his family, and was a compassionate friend. His impact on those around him will never be forgotten. His kindness and determination are something that everyone should aspire to.
