Please review our Submission Guidelines as well.
We are seeking submissions ONLY from people of color and/or individuals who identify with other underrepresented groups to add to our upcoming Delaware exhibitions which will be held throughout the state.
The INTO LIGHT Project is deeply aware of the impact that systemic racism has had upon addiction, and on which communities tend to receive support and have their stories told. We are an inclusive organization that embraces people of all backgrounds. We strive to share people’s stories equitably, and with humility. However, we were unsuccessful in our first exhibition in Delaware in obtaining submissions that represent the full spectrum of those who have lost their lives because of drug overdose, poisoning, or other related causes of death due to addiction.
In order to address this disparity of representation and to show the full picture of who this epidemic affects we are adding ten to fifteen individuals to our original exhibition. Both The INTO LIGHT Project and the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) in Delaware, our partner and funder for the Delaware Exhibitions, are committed to this endeavor. We are seeking submissions from people of color and/or individuals who identify with other underrepresented groups to add to our upcoming Delaware exhibitions which will be held throughout the state.
If you or anyone you know fits this category for submission, please submit today and encourage others to do the same. We recognize that more work remains to be done to fully represent the scope of the opioid crisis upon communities of color in this country, and we are fully committed to this pursuit.
Donations support the work of The INTO LIGHT Project to produce our exhibit, Drug Addiction: Real People, Real Stories. We bring awareness to substance use disorder (SUD) as a brain disease, help to change the conversation about drug addiction, and work to erase the stigma and shame associated with it.
